Key sign William has accepted Andrew back into family unit in Balmoral outing

The royal family has headed to the Scottish retreat for the summer, with Charles believed to have extended the olive branch to his younger brother by inviting him

Prince Andrew joined Prince William and other royal family members during an outing in Balmoral.

The royals have headed to the Scottish retreat for the summer, with King Charles believed to have extended the olive branch to his younger brother by inviting him. Tonight, members of the Firm attended a church service in an apparent show of unity, which insiders say marks an end to any talk of a “family divided”.

Andrew was seen with William and wife Kate Middleton on Sunday, in what marks the first summer holiday the family has taken on the estate since the death of Queen Elizabeth II. The Duke stepped down from public life after his friendship with disgraced paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.

There were rumours of a rift in the family since, but the arrival of Andrew with the Prince and Princess of Wales in the same car could mark an end to such talk. Prince William reportedly played a large role in stripping Andrew of his military titles. But now any tensions that may have existed could have thawed, in what marks William's first appearance with Andrew since Easter. The trio attended Crathie church this morning.

William and Kate attended a similar service alongside Andrew but were at all times several paces apart and did not appear to speak to each other. The display of unity comes as the royals are due to mark the first anniversary of the Queen's death on September 8 last year. King Charles will mark the day "quietly and privately", Buckingham Palace has confirmed.

The Duke, pictured in the front passenger seat beside William, was in Balmoral with his family: "All the Yorks, including the Duchess," royal sources told The Telegraph.

“Safe to say it’s a holiday where the entire family has been invited, the entire family are participating and the entire family are included,” they added. “Anyone looking for a family divided angle will be sorely disappointed.”
